I have a little map of the town of Colonia Diaz with all the residents' names where their houses were....I will look for that name and let you know. My great grandmother and grandfather lived there too.

My Grandmother born in Mexico was Edith Jane Gruwell (Moon), whose father was John Thomas MoonEdith married Orval Gruwell there in mexico. The father of Orval was Melvin Lowery Gruwell. All eight of my great grandparents lived there and I have almost finished reading the book, Heartbeats of Colonia Diaz, by Annie Richardson Johnson. The Gruewells are mentioned through out the book. We drove to C.D. and found the graveyard and there were headstones with that name there.

Hi Goldensteve, I would also like a copy of that map if it is better than the one in Annie Johnson's book, Heartbeats of Colonia Diaz. Thank you! My Nortons lived at Button Willow------I need to investigate more about that.

I do not have any information on who her parents were."I know that Orval had a sister named Charlottie (perhaps misspelled in my records) with the same birth date. Her parents were Melvin Lower Gruwell and Martha Merena Woodland. Thank you for your info. I have heard the name Willard lake before and now i know how he is connected to me. Sorry for the delay in sending that Colonia Diaz map to everyone who wants it. I lost the file! It must be somewhere, so when I run across it I will get it out to you. It is a .jpg photo file from a personal book someone posted on an Internet site that is now gone. I don't think there are any copyright issues at all, UNLESS you try to publish it yourself. But you can use it for personal history reasons all day and night.
